You

You will work with other CSIRO groups, and participate in the delineation and execution of CSIRO strategy, goals, research plans and budgets. The organic geochemistry team has strong strategic links with a variety of other research groups, including participating in academic research with universities, including with A/Prof Simon George’s group at Macquarie University.

Specifically you will:
– carry out cutting edge R&D in the area of organic geochemistry with an aim to publish in
peerreviewed journals;
– engage with industry and other organisations to develop commercial and collaborative R&D projects, including developing business plans and integrated proposals aligned with CSIRO’s strategic direction;
– collaborate with scientists across CSIRO to achieve optimal deployment of organic geochemistry capabilities;
– contribute to organic geochemistry activities and ensuring delivery of outputs on specification, on time and on budget;
– proactively ensuring all activities are carried out in strict accordance with HSE standards and practices.
Location: North Ryde (Sydney) New South Wales
Salary: AUD119K ‐ AUD132K plus up to 15.4% superannuation (pension fund)

To be considered you will have a PhD in organic geochemistry or geosciences or clear evidence of equivalent experience.
You will also have:
– extensive knowledge of petroleum exploration industry problems and practice in the field of organic geochemistry;
– experience and competencies in science management in R&D institutions, academia and/or industry;
– the ability to lead and develop a research framework with on‐going commercial commitments.
