Bonjour à tous,
Voici une session qui pourrait vous intéresser lors du prochain AGU Fall Meeting à la Nouvelle Orléans. Date limite de soumission des résumés : 2 août !
B014: Biomarkers from Source to Sink – Bridging the Transition from Empirical Relationships to Mechanistic Theory
https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm17/preliminaryview.cgi/Session25887
Session ID#: 25887
Session Description: Biomarkers can provide information on numerous processes including cellular metabolism, ecohydrology, sediment transport, diagenesis, atmospheric or water chemistry, and paleoclimate. Interpretations of organic matter molecular and isotopic signals from plant waxes, algal markers, alkenones, GDGTs, or other compounds are grounded in empirical correlations. Progress towards mechanistic understandings of how environmental factors influence biosynthesis, and how biomarker signals are modified through transport and deposition, can increase the value of these data and open opportunities for expanded applications. This session solicits contributions investigating these questions from source to sink, including biosynthesis, transport, and post-depositional alteration or production at all timescales and in any depositional environment. We also seek studies that use or test process-based interpretations of biomarker data to infer environmental, ecologic, or climatic conditions in the past or present such as temperature, hydroclimate, CO2levels, atmosphere or ocean circulation, or salinity.
