Short Description for International Internship “VIE” Position:
Within the TOTAL RESEARCH CENTER QATAR (TRC-Q) in Doha, the Organic Geochemistry Team is currently looking for a recently graduated Master student in Reservoir Engineering, Geology or Chemistry to perform a 24-month international internship (V.I.E. program) starting in Q4/2018.
Main activities of the Organic Geochemistry team in TRCQ are related to studies on reservoir fluid characterization, production allocation, reservoir compartmentalization and fluid property prediction. Beside operational studies that are carried-out together with local partners the team is also permanently developing new analytical techniques and interpretation methodologies. In addition the team pursues and follows-up several R&D activities inside and outside of Qatar.
Candidates applying for the advertised position should be motivated to perform scientific literature review, analytical work in the laboratory and interpretation of organic geochemical data. Main focus for the VIE will be on production allocation studies by chemical fingerprinting ( gas and liquid chromatography techniques) and hence a basic understanding of petroleum reservoirs, hydrocarbon fluid behavior and analytical chemistry would be advantageous.
Interested applicants should have received a university degree in reservoir engineering, petroleum geology, chemistry or related subjects (M.Sc. or equivalent) within the previous 12 month prior to the start of the V.I.E. internship. The V.I.E. program is restricted to European Union citizens not older than 28 years upon application date. The successful applicant will be first assigned for a two-month period to Total E&P’s Scientific and Technical Center (CSTJF) in Pau (France) before starting the position in Q1/2019 in TRC-Q (Doha, Qatar).
