Our lab currently has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher or a lab technician. The main task for either position will be the operation, maintenance and if needed, repair of two GC-MS systems and one LC system. Thorough operational and technical knowledge of gas chromatography and mass spectrometry, as well as attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential. The successful candidate will also be responsible for general laboratory management, whereas the scientist will additionally have the opportunity to pursue a sideline of geobiological research.
The successful candidate will be primarily affiliated with the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry (www.bgc.mpg.de) but located at the MARUM (Center for Marine Environmental Sciences), University of Bremen, Germany (www.marum.de), where our labs are located. We are mostly a small research group (www.marum.de/AG-Hallmann.html) with primarily English communication.
