Poste à pourvoir à l’Université de Louvain

Reçu sur ISOGEOCHEM:

There is a full-time academic vacancy in the Group of Science, Engineering & Technology, Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Division of Soil and Water Management at KU Leuven in the area of environmental organic chemistry. We are looking for internationally oriented candidates with an excellent research record and with educational competence within the field of environmental chemistry.
The research will be embedded in the Division of Soil and Water Management where soil and water processes are studied at various scales with applications towards environmental quality assessments, C-N-P cycling studies, and soil fertility evaluations.
The candidate will develop research on the fate or effects of organic contaminants in the environment. More specifically, the candidate has to develop expertise and tools for the extraction, detection and identification of organic contaminants at trace level in environmental matrices, e.g. in water, soils, biota and food items. This analytical work should be integrated with studies on fate and/or effects in biota, for example transport, uptake and biodegradation in the environment. The candidate is requested to integrate this research in that of the Department, i.e. a multidisciplinary group in earth and environmental sciences.
Teaching assignments in the field of environmental organic chemistry in the Master in Environmental Technology will be moderate at the start of the career.
