Open lecturer position at EPHE (organic geochemistry)

Dear all,

I would like to raise your attention to a new open lecturer position at Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes to work on past subtropical and tropical climates (EPOC, University of Bordeaux) and ecosystems (ISEM, University of Montpellier). The recruited lecturer will be assigned to EPOC or ISEM depending on the relevance of his or her research projects to the activities of the host unit.

The person recruited at EPOC will develop the study of the climate of tropical and subtropical regions, regions that are sources of heat and humidity and, therefore, key areas for the terrestrial energy and water balance. She will have recognized expertise in paleoclimatology using terrestrial climate markers (biomarkers, geochemical tracers) preserved in marine sequences, providing information on vegetation and/or continental climate. The research carried out will mainly focus on the study of climate change in tropical and subtropical regions, which will make it possible to assess low-high latitude interactions and the variability of the hydrological cycle by complementing the research already conducted by EPHE professors and researchers and more generally by the Palaeoclimate team of the EPOC laboratory.

Please find attached additional information on this position and the application form.

Deadline for submitting applications: 14th March 2019, 16h00 (Paris time).

Yours sincerely,

Maria
